Isospin-dependent effective interaction in nucleon-nucleus scattering.

چکیده
The isospin-dependent component of the effective nucleon-nucleon interaction that causes the ∆T = 1 (p, p’) and (p, n) reactions off nuclei is studied. It is shown that the corrections to the impulse approximation comes from the g-matrix type correction and the rearrangement term. They are numerically estimated with the isospin-asymmetric nuclear-matter reaction matrix approach. The analysis of the isobaric analog transitions Ca(p,n)Sc and Ca(p,n)Sc are presented. Probing the Nuclear Equation of State in the quasi-elastic nucleus-nucleus scattering
Large-angle elastic scattering of α-particle and strongly-bound light nuclei at a few tens MeV/nucleon has shown the pattern of rainbow scattering. This interesting process was shown to involve a significant overlap of the two colliding nuclei, with the total nuclear density well above the saturation density of normal nuclear matter (NM). For a microscopic calculation of the nucleus-nucleus pot...
متن کاملMicroscopic optical potentials for nucleon - nucleus scattering
Microscopic optical potentials for nucleon-nucleus (NA) scattering obtained from the folding of the effective g matrices, solutions of the Bruckner-BetheGoldstone equation, with the densities of the target, are applied to the case of neutron-nucleus scattering. Given that the optical potentials are specified in all two-body angular momentum, spin and isospin channels available to the NA scatter...
متن کاملIsospin Violation in the Two–nucleon System
I discuss isospin violation in an effective field theory appraoch of the nucleon– nucleon interaction. The observed leading order charge independence breaking is explained in terms of one–pion exchange together with a four–nucleon contact term. A general classification scheme of corrections to this leading order results is presented and an explanation is offered why charge–dependent pion–nucleo...
متن کاملFe b 19 97 Progress in the Development of Global Medium - Energy Nucleon - Nucleus Optical Model Potentials
Two existing global medium-energy nucleon-nucleus phenomenological optical model potentials are described and compared with experiment and with each other. The first of these employs a Dirac approach (second-order reduction) that is global in projectile energy and projectile isospin and applies to the target nucleus 208 Pb. Here the standard S-V (isoscalar-scalar, isoscalar-vector) model has be...
متن کاملSensitivity of nucleon-nucleus scattering to the off-shell behavior of on-shell equivalent NN potentials.
The sensitivity of nucleon-nucleus elastic scattering to the off-shell behavior of realistic nucleon-nucleon interactions is investigated when on-shell equivalent nucleon-nucleon potentials are used. The study is based on applications of the full-folding optical model potential for an explicit treatment of the off-shell behavior of the nucleon-nucleon effective interaction. Applications were ma...
